Armstrong Cable Fails at Broadcasting
Just as the first quarter of last night's Steeler game was ending, KDKA went offline on Armstrong Cable systems. Here in Meadville, we get KDKA HD so we get to watch the games in pretty HD and when the system STB last night, so did our HD feed.
I tried to call Armstrong but for two hours all I got was fast busy signals and "all circuits are busy" messages. Today, KDKA, ironically enough, reports that an equipment problem is to blame for yesterday's outage, and it wasn't just in Meadville, it affected Pittsburgh customers as well, hence the jammed phone lines. Unless those customers busted out the rabbit ears, they were stuck.
Luckily for us in Meadville, we have the ability to also watch WSEE's terrible signal in standard def. It stunk, but at least we got to see the game. Unfortunately, the Steelers forgot to come out in the second half.
WPXI reports on the angry residents. Man is their website awful. Anyways, you've got to love this line from the story:
Several fans told Channel 11 that they would be switching their providers at the next available opportunity.
I'm with you - if I could locals in HD (either Cleveland or Pittsburgh) I'd jump in a heartbeat. We're only getting 1 local in HD right now so it wouldn't take much to get me to switch.
DirecTV or Dish customers - what are you experiences with locals via satellite, either in HD or not?

I post it here as a post with Dennis is a post to nowhere.
Excellent report on the Steelhead. Filming or fishing, these guys did a great job. I was pleased to see they got one, tho it could have been a couple of days to do???
