Cancel your Verizon Wireless Account Without Penalty
Seems Verizon is making changes to your contract by increasing your text messaging fees. If you don't have a text message plan, like me, you can cancel your account and not pay any early termination fees.
Consumerist has more info on this. I've been waiting to do this and move over to an iPhone, but should I at least wait until Macworld next week to see if there's anything new on the 3G iPhone? I know a new phone will come eventually, but if its summer, I might as well wait out my Verizon contract.
I've also been debating dumping our VoIP service and strictly using cell phones. Thanks to services like GrandCentral, you can call 1 number and reach either of us, so it makes sense. That'd save me $26 (and rising) bucks a month and a little over $300 a year.
At the very least, you should be able to squeeze some stuff out of Verizon if you do decide to stay.
Ah, dilemmas.
