S3 Down. WTF?

Amazon's S3 service was out for a few hours today - and two of my sites were affected.

It's the first time in many months I've had any type of downtime with S3 - and I'm not a heavy enough user to really be totally affected by it, but a lot of sites I use were out today, including Twitter, Tumblr and more. I bet a lot of Facebook stuff broke too.

Amazon was proud of the SLA they recently announced, so it will be interesting to see the fallout of this outage and what they'll do to remunerate customers. I'm small potatoes but I bet large sites will really be pushing for something.
