The Indians Are Killing Me
After watching last night's ALCS game 6 and seeing the Indians' commanding 3-1 game lead in the series, it comes down to tonight's game 7. All the ESPN idiots are talking about how this is what its all about in sports - one game for all the marbles, with the excitement and energy blah blah blah. It's all fine and good when its two teams I could care less about, but it's so much worse when its your team.
It's funny too how fast your feelings can change - rewind just a few days to Tuesday night and there was elation everywhere because Cleveland was up 3 games to 1 and it looked like the World Series was a done deal. Now, I bet most Tribe fans feel like I do - the feelings of doom that Boston will roar back, one of the ages, et cetera.
Please, Indians, please win tonight. I'm so sick of hearing about "Manny being manny." It's not even that I'm sitting on World Series tickets, which I am, but I'm more afraid about what will happen to the psyche of this team if they blow this lead and lose the series - and what the long term repercussions will be.
Please jump out to an early lead against the overhyped Dice-K so I can feel OK about flipping between this game and the Steelers game tonight. I don't think my wife would me bringing down an extra TV set.
KTHNXBYE.
