Virgin Mobile SugarMama
We used to have cellphones back in the day. They were nice, as I was commuting 45 minutes each way and Jennifer could reach me any time. When we moved closer to my work, we got rid of the phones, opting instead for a pay-as-you-go Virgin Mobile phone.
I was glad to be rid of just-awful CellularOne, who never seemed to be able to get my bills right. Ever. They'd turn off our phones, saying we never paid, but we did. And every time, like clockwork, the CSR would want me to pay $20 to turn them back on. Hell no, I'd say, this was your error, you fix it. And every time, they would. As awful as CellularOne was, I've heard horror stories about all the major services. Why can't they seem to get anything right?
Anyways, back to Virgin. It's been nice to have the phone. We don't use it, and to be honest, I don't even know the number. Jennifer knows it, and I take it with me wherever I go now awaiting the fateful call that it's Peanut Butter Jelly Baby Time.
I'm intrigued by this story about Virgin's SugarMama program. Basically, you listen to ads or watch other content and in return you get cell minutes with Virgin Mobile. Intriguing, but it reminds me all the pre-crash sites where you could get money for looking at ads, or get a free computer. I think even NetZero started this way. Virgin's got a few sponsors already lined up.
I'll try it out when it launches in June and let you know how it goes.
