I'll be blogging the conference when I can over at HighEdWebTech.com.

p.s. there's an Apple store just down the street from the hotel, I hope to make a stop in. My money's on them having no 3G iPhones though. We'll see.

Back in June, we ran a graphic from an ErieBlogs reader pointing out a broken area at GoErie.com. They used giant red arrows and a big circle. It still cracks me up when I see it.

Today, I found another GoErie.com problem, this with with their Del.icio.us links. I bookmark quite a bit of stories lately and while their Digg.com link works, the Delicious one does not. In the spirit of BetaJohn, who made the Erieblogs graphic, I took a screen grab and added arrows.

I tried to make mine friendlier by using a web 2.0 logo fade. Click on the pic for a larger version. I feel like I didn't add enough arrows.

P.S. the pop-under ad you have whenever I click on a link is lame.

There are a ton of really interesting features in the creature creator, like the animated avatar builder and my new favorite, the feature that lets you record video of your creature doing actions and automatically upload that video to YouTube. Here's some video I made tonight.

All this is just a prelude to the actual Spore game, due in September. I tried to describe it to Jenny as The Sims meet Sim City then multiply that by 1,000.

To those of you lucky enough to be in attendace at the tournament, must you yell GET IN THE HOLE! every single time someone hits the ball? Some one could be hitting their second shot on a par 5, with no chance of making the green and some idiot has to yell "get in the hole!"

Luckily, I can turn the sound off.

The results are in for this year's <strike>WalkAmerica</strike>, err, March for Babies.

I was unable to repeat as top moneyraiser in Crawford County. There's a man in Meadville who goes OFF every year and brings in, seriously, like $4,000 and something like $40,000 in the last seven years. I can't argue with that - he's bringing it for a great cause and I only won last year because he took the year off.

The good news is that I was the #2 top raiser in Crawford County. That's pretty awesome. I raised $1,360 with your help. Thank you! And get this - Jenny finished in the #4 spot. Pretty nice to bring some thunder in the top five. I hope we get some plaques :)

This year, we also created a team, lovingly named Team LolCatz. With 6 members, our team placed THIRD among all teams. The only two teams above us were Meadville OB/GYN and Meadville Medical Center. Both of those teams are GIANT, so if you take out those two, we were the top non-corporate team.

It was a great experience, and I have all the CD's ready to go. After this weekend's birthday festivities, I'll get them mailed out. (Ron - you get three. I know I owe you big time! I stink sometimes).

It seems like just yesterday I was carrying you from the delivery room to the nursery, in total contrast to the adventure that was having your brother. You've been a delight and you're only going to be more fun as you grow this year.

The good news is that we're young, and this will make us even more hungry to win it. We will be back.

Detroit - your team is amazing. It was like they had magnets on their sticks and were in perfect position every time. You deserve to win, but we'll be raising the Cup soon.

Tonight was one of those nights you live for as a hockey fan - tonight fans on both sides felt the highest highs and the lowest lows possible.

When the Wings scored that 3rd goal late in the third period, especially after watching the Pens play a strong game up to that point, it felt like the lowest one can feel as your favorite team is 5 minutes away from losing a championship.

It felt inevitable, especially as NBC started showing shots of the NHL official getting the Stanley Cup ready to present to the Wings.

There's two minutes left. You want to puke you feel so awful.

A minute left. You want it all to be over. There's no way Detroit will give up a goal with with Fleury pulled. They've been so amazing defensively, there's no way.

That may be one of the biggest goals in Penguins history.

Overtime.

Detroit dominated the first OT - but Marc-Andre Fleury played out of this mind and stopped everything. We were stronger in the second OT, and finally, finally, in the third overtime, Petr Sykora buried one on a power play.I think I woke up everyone in the house. The series goes back to Pittsburgh for Game 6 on Wednesday.

I am exhausted, and I'm sure many other Pens (and Wings) fans are as well. What a game.

Today starts my 32nd year. I'm going to make a list of stuff I'd like to do this next year.

Bring the thunder at EduWeb

Finish the renovation work in the bathoom

Replace the front steps

Finally put up the new ErieBlogs.com look and feel

Sell my Blackberry and a bunch of other crap that's been sitting in a box for years now.

Really, seriously this time, make some music and share it

Enjoy and cherish every day with the boys

Camp out in the backyard with Evan

Figure out my on-going health issues

Learn how to cook. Anything.

Learn about wine. I got a nice bottle of Reisling yesterday at a conference and I know nothing about it.

Give something back. It could be money (but that's easy), code, or my time and/or knowledge.

I'll try to accomplish as much of this as I can.

Jennifer and I trekked to Cleveland last night to catch Oscar-winners Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. It wasn't a Frames gig proper, though with the 2nd guitarist, bassist and violin player serving as the backing band, it might as well have been a Frames gig (plus they played Fitzcarraldo, how great was that?)

It was a great show - we had amazing seats 5 rows back, which obviously was my reward for hitting refresh over and over the moment tickets went on sale. All the extra work and money proved worth it when Glen started the show by coming to the very front of the stage and playing "Say It To Me Now" with no amplification at all and no microphone. 3,000 people were dead silent, hanging on every word. It was magical.

It was a lot of effort to get there on a busy Mother's Day, but it was well worth it, even just to catch opener Damien Dempsey.

At the end of the Swell Season portion, they brought Dempsey back out for a great version of The Old Triangle. Here's a clip to an old version:
